The Dolls of Derby Day.

Grace and I went off to the races this weekend to catch all the action of the David Jones Derby Day. This year I wore a black dress from Topshop London, Nine West grey pumps with crystal accents and the Lilly Fascinator by Neil Grigg for Saba.   

This year's Derby Day was full of sun and of course Sydney's best dressed men and women. The girls from Napoleon Perdis girls were in the members' section refreshing makeup, while David Jones ambassadors were scouting out the lucky best dressed at the 2012 Derby Day.

If you're free this Saturday, don't miss Doncaster Day at the races. We were lucky to have all sun last Saturday and a great chance to don our fascinators and bet on the horses. Thanks again to David Jones for a great afternoon xx

As a chosen stylist for Cleo Magazine's Bachelor Style Off for Thomas Sabo, I was so excited to spend the evening with the talented (and gorgeous) 2012 Cleo Bachelors. I had such a great time styling the star of Kitchen Whiz Andy Minh Trieu, he was the perfect fit for the latest Thomas Sabo collection... not to mention his ninja moves will wow any crowd!

Bursts of Colour at Premiere Sydney

After spending last Sunday at the Royal Hall of Industries, I was completely inspired by the colours and quirky finds from some of the world's best labels. 

This year's Premiere brought out the best and brightest (pun intended) labels to Sydney including ba&sh, Estilo Emporio, Hudson Jeans, Just Cavalli and True Religion. 

As one of the bloggers at this year's Blog Post, I'm happy to share some of the inspiring and up-and-coming labels I discovered at this exclusive trade show.

Working girls meet your new best friend. The party flats have been reinvented by Yosi Amra and come in great neons and patterns perfect for colouring blocking.

 From St Xavier  showed off their latest collection featuring genuine gems and stones in perfect statement pieces... with surprising price points.

Virgins, Saints, and Angels

 Gruppo TAC  brought along their Virgins, Saints, and Angels collection inspired by religious iconography found in Mexico and historical emblems sourced from the Vatican.

Bleulab Reversible Denim

My obsession with Bleulab continues... This was my first time seeing the denim in person and I was pleasantly surprised. The two-way zipper works like a dream and the fun colour combinations make these a great after-work denim. With a wide variety of colours and textures- I suggest any of the waxed styles- there really is a Bleulab for anyone. ( I won't be trying the animal print anytime soon, but they're fun if you've got the body type and look to pull it off ).

Wish Desti Saint a Happy Birthday & Check out the Maddie Collection

Today is not only Desti Saint's Birthday, she's also launching the new Maddie Collection!

At this year's Fashion Exposed, I was the lucky winner of the Atrum Black Long Happiness Tassle and I must say these bags are better quality than many luxury investment bags I own. The leather is incredibly soft, Italian lamb leather and the metal details are polished, without looking overdone.

The Maddie Collection contains both mattes and metallics for the perfect 'going out' bag. I've been pairing my Desti bag with bold coloured skinnys or fun animal prints.

                                               

All of Desti's bags are finished with the recognisable signature leather tassel and polished metal sphere. This season also includes the Double Happiness symbol signifying happiness, love and laughter.

These gorgeous bags were inspired by Desti's daughter Maddie and - like all Desti Saint bags - you can expect the finest quality.

Debut Brings Out Sydney's Best Emerging Designers

This year's Fashion Exposed brought over 1,500 local and global brands to Sydney. Business sessions included Trends Exposed with WGSN's Jen Sherrin and Business Exposed with Hurst & Co.'s Kate Hurst and live look books created representations of trends to come. 

This three-day trade event also featured the annual Debut design competition. This year's Debut was sponsored by Fashion Trend Australia and Young Republic. 

After spending the morning chatting with some of the designers, I was extremely pleased to hear the results chosen by Andrew and Marianne from Young Republic, Joelyne from the Sydney Girl and a few other stylish Sydneysiders. Check out the featured designers at this year's Fashion Exposed and don't miss the next Fashion Exposed in Melbourne this August.
